The Fitbit Ionic Adidas edition will be released in 2018

Fitbit is currently working with Adidas to launch a special edition of its smartwtach. But we will have to be patient since the Fitbit Ionic Adidas edition will not be marketed until 2018.

The Fitbit Ionic Adidas edition reminds me a little of the Apple Watch Nike + edition. Besides, the two watches will have roughly the same functionality. Big differences: a sports perforated bracelet and exercises made in Adidas which will be preloaded in the Fitbit watch.

This is the first time that the Fitbit brand has collaborated with a major sports brand like Adidas. Previously, the brand had notably worked with jewelry brands like Tory Burch and designers like Public School to create more fashionable bracelets for its collection of fitness trackers.

As for Adidas, we are witnessing a turnaround in strategy. Has the brand decided to no longer create its own wearables? Would this first partnership be the first of a long list? However, some rumors indicate that the brand still wants to launch a tracker for women. The Chameleon tracker would be compatible with its All Day Fitness application.

If you missed the iconic smartwatch launch with great fanfare, here’s a little booster. The first thing to say is that this is Fitbit’s very first smartwatch. This smart health connected watch is equipped with GPS, sensors to monitoring heart rate, NFC payment chip, sensors for swim tracking, etc. The lifespan of its battery is quite exceptional since the brand announces an autonomy of four days; a big advantage compared to the autonomy of certain competing watches.

Getting back to the Fitbit Ionic Adidas edition, while we know it will hit the market next year, we don’t know at what price. We will keep you posted as soon as we have more information on this topic.
