Slow Control, a French start-up specializing in smart health connected health, has created 10SFork: a smart health connected fork whose stated aim is to… Change your eating habits! The firm specifies thus wanting to introduce the concept of modified-self, as an extension of the current quantified-self.

The 10SFork smart fork allows you to control the speed of its feeding. You can indeed configure a time interval between each bite (10 seconds by default) which, if exceeded, will light a LED and will do vibrate your fork. (A notification can also be sent to your smartphone)

The 10SFork accompanies your meals

In addition, the range records several data relating to your chrononutrition: time and duration of meals, average number of fork strokes per minute and delay between each appetizer. This data is transmitted to the phone, to the Slow Control companion application, via Bluetooth LE. The transfer can also be done via USB using the Slow Control software, while recharging the Li-Po battery of the fork. The software platform also allows compare his data with that of his relatives or transmit to a health professional.

The notion that Slow Control wants to introduce, that of modified-self, is defined as improvement of his behavior, food in this case, it is clearly more than quantified-self which is presented as a simple consultation of the data collected by an activity tracker.
