The Jawbone Move, a 'low budget' tracker

[ad_1]

This morning, the Californian start-up Jawbone announced two smart health connected bracelets, the Jawbone UP3 and the Jawbone Move. If the first is intended for an informed audience, the second plays on its price to attract new customers. Sold for only 49.90 €, the Move competes directly with the Misfit Flash.

The Jawbone Move, a copy of the Misfit?

The Jawbone Move is a small activity sensor that wants to be quite complete since it is able to measure in real time the classic data of all the sensors, ranging from the number of steps taken, to the distances traveled, the calories burned or still sleep. In short, it measures as many things as its competitor the Misfit Flash, and moreover it does not hesitate to partially resume its design. If the Jawbone UP3 is particularly successful, we can regret that the Jawbone Move has a somewhat sketchy look, less refined than the Misfit in any case. At the same time, this bracelet still gives access to the excellent Jawbone application and its advanced advice (Smart Coach), which the Misfit cannot claim …

The Jawbone Move also has a 6 month autonomy, like the Misfit. On the other hand, there is no possibility of being woken up by a vibration system in an intelligent way, depending on the sleep phase in which one is. The user will however be able to view the time on his bracelet thanks to a system of LEDs. On the connection side, it is via Bluetooth 4.0 that the sensor is smart health connected to an iOS or Android smartphone.

For those who would not like to wear the sensor on the wrist, Jawbone has imagined a variation that goes through a clip system that hangs on clothes. With this bracelet, the start-up intends to attract new customers who are not necessarily followers of Quantified Self, but who would still be ready to Review a tracker at 50 € (before going to the higher version…).
