The Jawbone UP24 and the Nike Fuelband excluded from the Apple Store?

[ad_1]

With the formalization of its first smart health connected watch, Apple has decided to make room on its Apple Store shelves. The Cupertino firm is said to have removed Jawbone UP24 and Nike Fuelband from physical stores, Thus preparing the ground for its Apple Watch which will arrive on April 24, 2015 in the Stores. The news comes months after Fitbit was kicked out of the Apple Store for refusing to integrate into HealthKit, Apple’s health data aggregator.

The two smart health connected bracelets have also disappeared from the brand's French online store. Only the Jawbone UP Move and the Mio activity sensor can withstand this online store. However, the latter still explained to us during WTS 2015 that the withdrawal of the physical Apple Store had a significant impact on its sales. One can imagine that Nike and Jawbone will also suffer from this decision…

The two disappeared in the greatest silence

It was the American magazine Re / Code that first noted the absence of Jawbone UP24 and Nike Fuelband in all stores in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angels and New York. Coincidence? Not really. If Nike has stopped any further development of its smart health connected bracelet, it is nonetheless popular with athletes who want to follow their activity from their wrist, while having a strong community spirit.

Jawbone is a serious competitor of the Apple Watch since its next smart health connected bracelet – the UP3 – which we took in hand at WTS 2015 is announced as an extremely powerful tracker. It would thus compete strongly with the Apple Watch, which can also serve as an activity sensor, but whose price is significantly higher than a classic bracelet.

Apple is not its first type. Indeed, the apple brand had already decided to delete all references to the Bose brand from its Stores last fall, in order to make way for Beats helmets, which acquired at the end of the year. If you noticed the absence of these two products in your respective Apple Store, do not hesitate to share it in the comments!
