For the 2020 version of its flagship TicWatch Pro smart health connected watch, Mobvoi is emphasizing sustainability, in particular with MIL-STD-810G certification.
Mobvoi has made a name for itself with its affordable WearOS smartwatches that offer more than honorable services. In line with this policy, the newcomer to the Ticwatch Pro family will appeal to fans of the brand and many others. Presentation.
The TicWatch Pro 2020, successor to the original
Mobvoi released the first TicWatch Pro in 2018. Last year, the manufacturer launched an LTE edition of the model. Thus, this 2020 version is essentially the real successor to the original TicWatch Pro. In fact, it is already distinguished by a military standard certification MIL STD-810G indicating resistance to the harshest weather damage.
According to Mobvoi, his watch should therefore survive temperatures ranging from -20 ° C to 55 ° C. Unless you set off on an expedition to the surface of the Sun or to the Titan glaciers, the aircraft will therefore theoretically have nothing to fear. A IP68 certification also provides watertightness up to 30 minutes at 1.4 m depth.
But the 2020 TicWatch Pro also has twice the RAM of 2018, 1GB of RAM. According to the manufacturer, this would allow it to increase the volume and quality of the data collected by its sleep, activity and health sensors.
Outside, nothing changes
Aside from these features, Mobvoi isn't announcing anything new on this TicWatch. So, we regret to find the same processor as on the old model (a Snapdragon Wear 2100), involving Bluetooth and WiFi connections to exceeded standards.
Nevertheless, fans of the 2018 TicWatch Pro will be happy to find the dual OLED / FSTN LCD screen. Once the OLED screen is deactivated, you can expect up to 30 days of use on a single charge.
The smart health connected watch will display a price of 260 dollars across the Atlantic. The German media meanwhile announce 260 euros across the Rhine. So we should expect a price of 260 euros in France.
