Mabu is a small robot designed to help and support people suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease. Created by the company Catalia Health (founded in 2014 by Cory Kidd), this little android should bring lasting changes, especially in health home medical support.

A personalized approach

Unlike some applications and smart health connected objects for health, Mabu is thought of as a long-term assistant. Equipped with a facial recognition camera, it will only obey you and ask you questions about your current state, you will be able to answer it by voice or by touch. It can depending on your conversations, help adapt your treatment and especially collect data on their progress. The cloud-based intelligence platform (a bit like Meizu), offers patients unique discussions to try to contain as much as possible to solve, their health problems. One of its other functions is to be able to remind the patient (in the form of a call, a message … depending on their preference) that they should take their treatment.

Where are you from?

Mabu was born on the west coast of the United States, in San Francisco in the group's laboratories Catalia Health, and benefited from an investment of 1.25 million euros for its marketing. Its leader the doctor Cory Kidd, a former MIT alumnus, remains convinced that "the difference (in effectiveness) comes from the psychology of interaction. " For him, it takes a human approach with the patient, and it is with the relational and behavioral psychology it all starts. Then comes artificial intelligence and the best medical resources possible. It is therefore by proposing a small engaging robot that Kidd hopes to engage patients in the path of discussion, in order to popularize the “Health companion”.

Mabu was designed for a clear purpose, simplify and ease the lives of patients, as well as'help to the maximum (and in real time) doctors in the development of new treatments. For the moment none information as to its release date or price has not been disclosed.
