The Nike Fuelband (finally) compatible with Android

[ad_1]

Nike has just announced the release of an Android application for its smart health connected bracelet, the Fuelband. It is currently only available in English.

More than two years after launching its smart health bracelet, Nike has finally announced the release of an Android application which will allow users to retrieve data from their Fuelband SE directly on their mobile equipped with the operating system. Remember that the latter saw its price drop from € 139 to € 99 on the Nike Store.

Obviously, the smartphone will have to have a Bluetooth Low Energy connection to synchronize the data, and that it will use Android version 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or higher. This obviously includes all Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5, HTC One, Nexus 5 or even Moto X.

What strategy for Nike?

It’s quite curious to see a Fuelband application coming out now since the group has announced that it will stop manufacturing the bracelet, preferring to focus on the software part. In addition, some rumors announce the equipment manufacturer to ally with Apple for its iWatch, a serious competitor for Google in the market for smart health connected objects.

Unfortunately, theapplication is only in english language for the time being. You can download it for free via the direct link of Google Play right here.
