Misfit is back with the Misfit Shine 2. Successor to the Shine activity tracker, this new version aims to be thinner, more robust and more intelligent, in particular using its original design and its many features.
Misfit Shine 2, thinner, more robust
You do not need to be an expert in smart health connected wristbands to know the Misfit Shine, an activity tracker coupled with a rather stylish sleep monitoring that we were already talking about here and in our guide to buying smart health connected wristbands. Knowing that the first Shine of the name had been our crush for a while, we were impatient to meet his successor.
In the end, Misfit Shine 2 seems to keep its promises. Only thick 8mm, it turns out in addition particularly robust (it can be completely submerged up to 50m deep). Always equipped with its 12 LEDs, which allow it toshow time, progress made and some notifications, it also has a magnetometer, a 3-axis accelerometer and a touchscreen. As for the wireless connection, it is provided by Bluetooth 4.1.
Note that like its predecessor, the Misfit Shine 2 does not operate by battery but with a battery, of a autonomy of about 6 months. A real plus vis-à-vis the competitors, who rarely exceed two weeks.

A go-anywhere design
"Passe-partout" is the word we could use to describe the design of the Misfit Shine 2. First of all because it is small, but also because it was designed to attach everywhere : as a bracelet, hanging on a piece of clothing, around the neck… It already plans several accessories so that each user can wear it the way they want. Combined with several colors in which the screen will be delivered (black and brown), we can assume that many will find it to their liking.
Activity tracker and sleep monitoring
All right, all of this is all well and good, but what's in the belly of this Misfit Shine 2? First, it’s a activity tracker, a real. This means that he is able to distinguish several activities (jogging, running, cycling, swimming), d’’’analyze performance user and locate in relation to the objective that he had established himself (by displaying the current percentage on his screen).
But Misfit Shine 2 is not only useful during exercise. On the contrary, it even offers regularly remind the wearer to order when he is not active enough. The rest of the time, he can always view incoming messages or calls, and after dark, it will analyze the quality and duration of sleep of its master, even going as a wake-up call thanks to its vibrator.
New level, apart from the vibrator functionality, it is above all compatibility with the Misfit Link app which can be interesting. In this way, the touch surface of the Misfit Shine 2 can be used to control music, take a selfie or interact with other smart health connected objects (via IFTTT or the Harmony health home Club of Logitech).
In short, an interesting smart health connected bracelet already available for only a hundred dollars (equivalent to a few 90 €).
