The Samsung Gear Sport and the Gear Fit 2 Pro are revealed!

In addition to the Samsung Gear IconX 2018, Samsung unveiled two new wearables at IFA 2017: the Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch and the Gear Fit 2 Pro tracker.

The Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch and the Gear Fit 2 Pro tracker are both focused on tracking your fitness and physical activity.

Samsung's wearable product line has not always been the easiest line to follow. Last year, the brand launched the Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker, then at lFA 2016, Samsung unveiled two variants of its Gear S3 smartwatch. A mass of products which finally… get lost a little in the mass.

Suddenly, these two new products are more updates to what was already unveiled in 2016 than major upgrades. Personally, I don't think it's a bad thing. It is time for Samsung to manage this range of products in a clear and simplified way. But back to the products.

The Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch is a little thinner and smaller than the Gear S3. It is equipped with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The watch is available in black or blue and can be personalized with 23 different straps. The watch is powered by a dual-core processor and 4 GB of storage; like the Gear S3. As usual, Tizen is the operating system used. You can therefore connect your smartwatch to Android and iOS phones. The Gear Sport is also equipped with GPS and a heart rate monitoring. The smart health connected watch can also go into water to a depth of 50 meters (164 ft). Ideal for swimmers! In short, the Gear Sport is like the Gear S3 with a sporty touch.

Good point: offline Spotify synchronization is available for both the Samsung Gear Sport and the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro. This is a real novelty! As for the other features of the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro, the smart health bracelet integrates a GPS and a heart rate monitoring. You can therefore leave your smartphone in the locker room or at health home.

On the design side, it looks a lot like the Gear Fit 2, with a long, curved 1.5-inch AMOLED screen and a display resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. Several sizes are available in blue or black with a red interior. Here too, 4 GB of storage have been provided and the smart health connected bracete runs on a dual-core processor. The tracker works with Android and iOS devices.
