The smart health connected bracelet Polar A360 attacks the mass market

[ad_1]

The fitness specialist Polar has announced its first physical activity sensor for the general public, the A360. After having focused for a long time on a clientele of top athletes, he is now in the same niche as the Fitbit, Jawbone et al.

Polar is known to be one of the most accurate manufacturers of physical activity sensors (and heart rate monitors), but aesthetics have not always been there. Here is the new A360 smart health connected bracelet for lens to remedy this by bringing bright colors and a touch LCD to the solution. On the first images, the screen is rather attractive, but the bracelet does not look really flexible and comfortable. An impression that we will validate during our Review.

Like what we have seen with the Razer Nabu X or the Fitbit Charge / Charge HR, the new Polar bracelet includes a small module that is placed in an interchangeable strap. The owner can also choose to take it out of the bracelet and place it discreetly in a pocket or accessory that will probably arrive later.

The Polar A360 rivals the Fitbit Charge HR directly

At the level of the measurements recorded by the smart health connected bracelet Polar A360, one finds obviously the number of steps, the distances traveled, the number of calories consumed or sleep. To that, the sensor measures the heart rate in real time, which is also found in the Fitbit Charge HR. For those who would like an even more accurate measurement of this indicator, it is possible to pair the sensor directly with the brand's H7 cardio belt. The A360 is at the crossroads with a smart health connected watch as it is also able to display the notifications the user receives on his smartphone (calls, messages, social networks) thanks to a vibration system. All saved data is then sent to a dedicated mobile application.

The company announces that the battery lasts up to two full weeks including 24-hour tracking and one hour of sports session per day. This is far above what the competition proposes to do. At the price level, The Polar A360 will be marketed for a price of 199 € from the month of November. This is significantly more expensive than the Fitbit Charge HR which starts from 129 € at some merchants (see table on the right). Several bracelet colors will be sold separately for a fixed price of $ 24.95.
