The smartphone, nest of bacteria!

Object of everyday life, the smartphone has become for many a permanent companion. But which, like us, absorbs a lot of bacteria…

Bacteria from morning to night

In a classic day, we keep repeating the same activities: getting up, showering, eating, going to the toilet and on public transportation, touching, or talking to people who have done the same things as you. How many times have you washed your hands and your face? Maybe two, three times at best. And your smartphone, have you thought about it?

In any case, nobody thinks about it, even if this (more or less) small object follows you everywhere, including in the most intimate and dirtiest places. Result, the smartphone becomes a nest for bacteria. And where we have the sensible reflex to avoid kissing a flu, we do not hesitate to handle our smartphone or those of others with our hands, outside, it is much more dangerous. Smartphones therefore join the long list of “bacteria nest” objects: computer keyboard, restaurant table, salt shaker, etc.

This is not news: Numerous studies, some dating back to 2008 already showed this, the most convincing example being the study by students of the University of Surrey in Great Britain. A smartphone would have 4 to 5 times more bacteria than a toilet bowl! 15% of these bacteria are dangerous for health, and 1 in 6 would be… fecal. If 95% of people say they wash their hands with soap after leaving the toilet, the reality is quite different …

The fact remains that few people are aware of the risk they run, due to almost zero awareness.

Prevention rather than cure

So how do you protect yourself from a horde of bacteria and the diseases that go with it? The best is Grandma's recipes like a cleaning cloth with water and vinegar oil or the simple civil gesture of cleaning your hands (we tell you from a very young age that it must be done, it is not for nothing!). You can't really expect much from the manufacturers. At best, a great awareness campaign.

There are of course some objects to protect the smartphone, like the phone soap charger or protective holsters, but 60 bucks to avoid manual cleaning from time to time, it's still expensive paid…

Smartphone users, so don't forget to clean your device well and yourself. A cotton swab with a little dressing to clean the keys is already very effective. Sex is smart health connected, so are diseases!
