Jupiter is the name of an unusual accessory, designed to transform your smartphone into an… electronic cigarette. A new kind of smart health smart health connected object, launched last year by Vaporcade, and found this year at CES 2016.

CES 2016 is an opportunity to discover and try out a lot of the wackiest smart health connected objects from each other, and not only on the trade fair stands. This, the journalists of The Verge realized that, because they were able to meet and try Jupiter, a electronic cigarette lined with a telephone.

Already at the origin of classic smart health connected cigarettes and cigars, as well as coffees specially designed to complement the taste of these e-cigarettes, it was really with Jupiter that the American company entered the world of smart health connected objects. Jupiter defines itself as a smart health connected smartphone, running Android and existing in two models: the Jupiter IO3, with a 3G connection, and the Jupiter 4IO, in 4G version. The principle: its summit is equipped with a small cavity that can accommodate different flavors of vaping liquids. There is a room in the phone shell and a button activates the system heat.

Like conventional smartphones, Jupiter recharges via micro-USB cable and can run applications compatible with their operating system (Android Kitkat 4.4). However, they are equipped with two batteries : one for the phone, the other for vaping. Namely that these two batteries are communicating, so that if we use little the aspect "electronic cigarette", phone autonomy (announced from 4 p.m.) can lengthen accordingly.

Of course, like any self-respecting smart health connected cigarette, it has an application directly on the smartphone in question. It will inform the user of the battery level, the amount of liquid remaining, the flavor that has been installed in the system and can even record the number of puffs inspired.

The various Jupiter models can already be ordered via the Vaporcade website. The IO3 model is available for $ 299 (equivalent € 275) and the IO4 for $ 499 (equivalent € 459). Refills can be purchased individually, at a price of $ 15 (around € 14) for tastes as varied as mint, peach or coffee.
