The Sony SmartWatch 3 was presented yesterday at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. The opportunity for the Sony smartwatch to make a little makeover.
The Sony SmartWatch 3 is a stainless steel model and offers a 1.6 inch TFT LCD transflective screen (320 × 320) with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, an NFC chip and a 420mAh battery. The SmartWatch 3 will communicate in Bluetooth 4.0.
This smart health watch has IP68 certification because it is waterproof and dustproof. To charge it you will need a standard microUSB cable. According to Sony, it "will allow users and partners to personalize the SmartWatch 3 with any 24mm bracelet. "It will be available in early 2015.
Like its competitors, the company is also working with developers to improve and develop the functionality of the watch. From January, the watch will offer Lifelog, Golfshot and iFit applications.
"We have specifically designed the Lifelog platform openly, to help developers build new experiences and access the Sony ecosystem like never before – it's going to be an exciting year. Explains Yasuharu Nomura.
Sony has yet to reveal the price or an exact date for the stainless steel SmartWatch 3 release.
