Three Canadians have developed the first smart health connected bike. The objective? Ensure the safety of cyclists in urban areas. A Kickstarter campaign is launched.

The Vanhawks Valor is the story of three young Canadian entrepreneurs who spent a year thinking about their smart health connected carbon bike. Presented on May 1 on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, the company's goal was to raise $ 100,000. It’s done since almost $ 300,000 was raised in one week, and according to statistics, the campaign may even cross the million dollar mark

Valor, pedal safely

If it looks any, the Valor bike goes much further: its objective is to allow users tomake a safe journey thanks to a plethora of sensors dispatched throughout the bike. This will allow cyclists to monitoring blind spots (a vibration system in the handles of the bike notifies him of approaching a vehicle) but also to be informed of the least dangerous roads. Also, Valor offers a system of GPS guidance clever: LEDs integrated in the handlebars will indicate the directions to follow to get to the address indicated on the mobile application.

All Vanhawks brand bikes are smart health connected to each other, which will make it easy to locate them in the event of theft.

All carbon, the smart bike weighs only 7kg. It is sold at early-bird price for 999 CAD. However, impossible to register with for the Tour com France this year, the first deliveries will take place in october 2014, only in the United States and Canada.
