Remember Google X working on a medical wearable? Me no ! Well, it looks like Verily is developing a wearable that predicts illnesses is still being developed in the health division of Alphabet.

Verily hasn't been talked about much, but a second version is said to be in development and intended to help scientists in their research. We don't have images of the mysterious device, but the MIT Technology Review was able to take a look.

In its current form, it is a watch-shaped tracker that uses a low-power e-paper display. The prototypes would therefore have the form of an analog watch without buttons and equipped with small colored rubber bracelets.

We already knew that the wearable was designed to track a number of biometric data in real time, such as pulse, heart rate, skin temperature, noise and light exposure levels. According to the latest information, experts in blood pressure monitors have joined the development team.

This device was designated under the name Cardiac and Activity monitoring by the CTO of Verily, Brian Otis. In addition to an accelerometer and a gyroscope, it is equipped with sensors to measure the ECG, green LEDs for the PPG and four metal studs for measurements of the galvanic response of the skin, or perhaps the charge. .

It all sounds simple enough, but what's really exciting is what Verily plans to do. It will not be a wearable intended for the general public. It will be used in medical research and in particular at Alphabet. Its purpose is to predict the disease by studying and tracking the biometric signals of 10,000 or 20,000 people before they get sick. Alphabet will use this small smart health connected ride to collect huge amounts of data from volunteers.
