The Wiko Watch, rival of the Withings Activity Pop?

[ad_1]

Withings is from Paris. Wiko is from Marseille. However, the two manufacturers of smart health connected objects meet in the activity sensors. On the occasion of MWC 2015, Wiko announced its smart health connected watch that tracks physical activity, and which draws heavily on the latest Withings Activity Pop, at least on style. The set has a very "plastic / gadget" side, but we will appreciate the interchangeable side of the bracelets.

As such, you can't really say that the Wiko Watch is a "real" smartwatch, since it doesn't include OS. Rather, it is an activity sensor (which takes the form of a watch) with a system of LEDs that can display the objectives as well as notifications from a smartphone. Compatibility with iOS and Android phones is ensured. On the measurement side, the Wiko Watch is able to record the number of steps, sleep, and also serves as a vibrating alarm for waking up.

When the Withings Activity Pop has a second dial to display the progress, the Wiko Watch comes close to a Misfit Shine on this principle. Like the latter, the autonomy is estimated at around 6 months for the sensor, while the watch can last 4 years. According to preliminary information, the Wiko Watch will be available in June 2015 for a price between 100 and 150 euros.

A major challenge for Wiko…

Faced with a booming market, Wiko launches there on slippery ground. Like Withings and its Pop, it will have to find an audience that does not want to invest in a smartwatch (no need to wear two watches), but which in parallel wants to have a sensor that looks like a watch (and not a bracelet, like at Jawbone or Fitbit). In addition, Wiko does not yet have the power and recognition of a Withings, so the task seems quite complicated, especially since the watch is not in itself revolutionary.
