UHoo is in step with the times

UHoo is launching a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for its smart health connected air quality detector.

smart health connected objects will soon populate our entire house. The "smart air quality sensor"D"Uhoo ride the trend of making all objects smart and smart health connected.

The Singapore-based company is raising funds to manufacture its device. Equipped with 8 sensors each having their role, you will be able to gauge the air quality in your health home, through a mobile application. Level of toxins or allergens, temperature, dust, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone, air pressure and volatile organic compounds (present in paint or household products) are thus specifically detected.

The device would cost $ 99, a price that aims to be correct given the in-depth analysis offered by the device. It works in parallel with a real-time alert application, data sharing, and long-term health monitoring. Useful in both offices and homes, the uHoo detector is currently being pilot tested in two hospitals.

If the company targets interiors, it is because different studies have shown that we spend 90% of our time between 4 walls. The device would be particularly useful for asthma or people withallergies, as well as those who work alongside toxic chemicals. Another study found that air quality was very poor in 50% of American schools and that indoor air was often much worse to breathe than outdoor air. And if you can't measure air quality, you can't improve it.

UHoo analyzes but does not filter

The uHoo air detector is small: 8 cm in diameter, 15.5 cm in height and weighs less than 0.5 kg, allowing movement throughout the health home.

Other products are coming to the air purifier market. Air cleaning robots are starting to democratize, and Sprimo recently announced a $ 400 sensor that can also purify the air we breathe through a filter. But the founders of uHoo realized that filtering the air was not easy, including different types of filters depending on different allergies and toxins. The company then decided to leave this task to others and focus on simple analysis.

The app allows you to have multiple devices smart health connected to a single account, so you can control different locations at the same time. Connect your uHoo device to a wall outlet and connect it via WiFi. The air quality report will then appear on your phone through an application available on both iOS and Android. Data is secure and stored in the cloud for faster access, wherever you go, and can be shared. This allows you to keep an eye on the air quality in others, in the case of an elderly person for example.

UHoo will be released in 2 versions: the premium and the classic. The difference will be in the number of sensors present on the device.

Dustin Jefferson Onghanseng and Brian Lin founded the company uHoo in 2014. Its name comes from the Chinese “yohoo” meaning “excellent breathing”. UHoo hopes to be able to ship its first orders by the end of the year.
