Vanmoof offers us an even smarter bike.

The Vanmoof company offers us today the "first intelligent bike in the world" and its anti-theft guarantee.

We often give up on offering high-end bikes because flights are not in the minority, this is the problem that the company Vanmoof provides an answer. During the "Fast Company’s Innovation Festival" they present their prototype of what they call " the world's first smart bike ".

Containing now and already a GPS allowing the bicycle to be returned in the event of theft the real innovation is in the warranty provided with the bike. If the Vanmoof company cannot find your bike for two weeks, it will offer you a new one.

" Everyone loves what our bikes look like, that's almost a reason not to buy one. It’s like they say “steal from me”. What we hope to sell is not a bicycle, but peace of mind. Said Dave Shoemack, director of global marketing for Vanmoof.

A bike that stands out

The company is still working on certain details concerning the distribution of the police teams responsible for finding the bikes in the different cities and their recovery. Depending on the case, owners may be billed approximately € 47 ($ 50) to force them to take care of their bikes.

Similar technologies exist on other types of electric bikes, however for Vanmoof bikes the risk of theft will be higher as owners of electric bikes tended to keep them indoors compared to those of more basic bikes. But the smart bike is not lacking in resources and has other features that can be controlled with an app like the ability to see where the bike is parked, lock or unlock the built-in lock, recharge the bike lights while pedaling and share access to the bike with Facebook friends.
