Watch 2: Apple announces second generation of smartwatches

At a keynote in San Francisco, Apple presented the second generation of its simply named “watch” smartwatch. You can find all the information in this article.

First of all, the launch of the Apple Watch 2 was about new features, which also benefit from the first generation of the Smartwatch from Cupertino. There is, for example, Pokemon Go, which comes as an app on the Apple Watch. This shows, for example, the distance to nearby Pokemons, but Pokestops can also be visited and used via smartwatch.

Apple's Watch 2, which is actually called "Series 2", can be worn as one of the biggest innovations when swimming, it is water-resistant to a depth of 50 meters. In this context, there are also special workouts for users of the gadget. A dual-core processor works inside, and the display should now be significantly brighter than its predecessor at 1000 nits. As already rumored, the Apple Watch 2 has installed a GPS module, which developers can use for their upcoming fitness and navigation programs.

Like the first Apple Smartwatch, Apple Watch 2 will be available in many different colors and materials – as a special feature, there will also be a white ceramic version. Apple has also introduced new bracelets and in cooperation with the sporting goods manufacturer Nike there will be a special version of the wearable for runners. Apple Watch Nike + will be called the gadget and is said to offer “the best running experience” that a portable fitness machine can deliver.

Apple Watch Series 2 will cost $ 369, as will the Apple Watch Nike +. The first Apple Watch will be reduced in price and will cost $ 269 in the future. Apple has so far not mentioned German prices.
