Which Suunto smart health connected watch to choose?
Well, it all depends on your main sporting activities. These three watches share many features for many sports, but they still have each very specific device. The Peak model especially for high altitude hikers and mountaineers, however it may just as well be suitable to runners and cyclists practicing their activities at the same height. Its precise GPS and weather data will allow the boldest to properly prepare their somewhat wild escapades. The Sport version seems perfectly appropriate to regular athletes who enjoy various physical activities. Whether it’s running, biking or off-roading, the features offered by the latter will satisfy athletes, looking for the perfect personal training. The latest model, the Run, is perfectly suited for neophytes of running. Indeed, its performance measurements, its recovery system and its cardiac sensor will make it the best friend, experienced runners.
Bonus for Ambit3 HR versions
As you can see, all of its watches offer an HR version including with the latter, the heart rate belt Suunto Smart Sensor. The latter can be used to record your performance while swimming, but the data received on the phone will not be in real time, since Bluetooth technology has some difficulties in working in water. However, this accessory can also be used for the rapid recovery and sleep recovery tests (Firstbeat) available on the Sport and Run models.
Ambit3 connectivity and compatibility
By creating a version for Apple and for Android, Suunto wanted to make sure that as many consumers as possible could turn to their smartwatch concepts. Despite relatively high prices (a Fitbit with cardio costing € 250), the Ambit3 generation is relatively well positioned in the market for smart health connected watches for sport. Extremely complete in its functionality, the new models are aimed athletes concerned with reconciling connectivity and health. Being able to display the screens of the watch on that of the smartphone, now makes it more of a "hub" than a simple smart health connected watch. The fact of able to share almost immediately, his latest experiences on the large movescount community, also brings a huge plus to the Suunto company. The idea of being able to create his own 3D movie from his photos or those of others should once again tempt more than one sportsman.
And compared to others?
It is clear that with such prices, Suunto can be expected to aim a certain category of the sports population (a 500 € smart health connected watch? Only Apple dared!) but let's keep in mind that "when you don't love you don't count". Behind it is rather substantial, hides a very very very resistant smartwatch (especially the Sapphire model), incredibly reliable and above all equipped with a technological arsenal more or less explaining its price. So as the saying goes, “sometimes you have to know how to pay the price”. If you want more information on other smart health connected watches, we offer a small comparison as follows:
