Wireless Foscam E1 IP Camera Review

The equipments

It is quickly recalled, the Foscam E1 is a fully wireless IP camera with Full HD 1080P with night vision. To that, ifadded microphone, two-way speaker, and water and dust resistance.

The Foscam E1 comes with a Wi-Fi gateway, a charger, a battery and a magnetic wall mount. The whole is simple and sleek all dressed in white.

We find at the back of the camera, at the top a USB port to recharge the battery which promises 6 months of autonomy and below a button to open the battery compartment.

As we can see, the battery takes an important place in theinside from the camera.

And without forgetting the magnetic support which I find very practical and easy to use. Believe me no risk of the camera coming off on its own.

Installation of the wireless Foscam E1 IP camera

We start by installing the gateway Foscam by connecting to the sector and to our internet box via a cable RJ45. You may have noticed the USB port on the back of the gateway. This allows us to connect a hard drive or USB stick to directly store the photos and videos taken by the camera.

Then the camera, we insert the battery in its housing then we connect it to the charger in order to properly recharge the battery before the first use. Small tip, press the white button strongly on the back of the camera to open the battery compartment. This one is a little hard the first few times.

We then move on to combining the camera and the gateway. To do this, press the button for 5 seconds sync which is on top of the bridge and the camera. An indicator will flash on both devices until the end of the association which lasts less than a minute. A times this done, the seer sync stays solid green on the bridge.

The installation of the Foscam E1 is very easy and quick to set up, we have three options. Either via the magnetic holder provided, or simply stick with the double-sided supplied or with a support provided with a screw. Here, I opt for the magnetic support, I find it very practical, it is quick to set up, super practical and the camera does not move.

Use

Now let's move on to installing the mobile app and using the camera.

To do this, we download the mobile application available on Android and iOS. If you don't already have one account Foscam, it’s time to create one.

We then enter the gateway and the camera in the application. We can then configure the camera, the configuration is limited since it is limited to the image quality, the threshold for motion detection and the sound level.

Even if the translation leaves something to be desired, it is understandable (especially for us ch'ti ^^).

However, the image quality is beyond reproach. The Full HD feature 1080P allow to get a very clear even with the zoom. And even in the dark the infrared vision leaves us with an exploitable image.

Available as well in Wireless that in 4G, you will need a good internet connection at health home so as not to have the latency effect. Motion detection works well, we receive a notification on our phone and we can review the scene a posteriori.

And there is the Foscam cloud, which allows us to store and retrieve videos and photos taken by the camera.

Conclusion

IP camera Foscam E1 has several advantages for her, including the quality of the image and her ability to be completely wireless.
