Jabra Sport Pulse Unboxing
Jabra offers a well-made yellow and black cardboard box inside which we find the headphones packed in a small black shock-resistant case, various instructions for use, but also several sizes of plastic caps and shells . It’s a great initiative, especially since there are many sizes. Jabra justifies this in his application by explaining that the whole ear must be covered in order for the heart sensor to function properly. For a rather high-end product, the box follows. The little protection for headphones is a real plus !
Design & Ergonomics Jabra Sport Pulse
The Jabra Sport Pulse are also black and yellow, a little bee aspect not unpleasant, it must be admitted. On the design side, they are quite imposing it is true, but must cover the whole ear. First, to have the most precise measurements possible and second, to keep in the ears during sports activities. Surprisingly, once on the ears, the pulse sports are quite discreet. You have to pass the cord behind the head, cord on which there is a small control button including increasing and decreasing the volume and the possibility of pausing on the song. As for the micro-USB port for charging, it is on the right earpiece, below the protective shell thus preventing rain and sweat drops from entering the interior.
Not necessarily easy to understand directly how to install them (it is quite possible that you will have a hard time for a few minutes), nevertheless once it is done, they are very comfortable to wear. No pain and good sound insulation. Even during a race, the process of fixing inside the ear does not fail. We tried to shake our heads like deaf people, without success.
Jabra Sport Pulse app
Inevitably who says smart health connected headphones says dedicated application. On the operation itself and the ergonomics, the application is convincing. No unwanted return to the phone menu or crash, that's already a good thing. In terms of use, Jabra Sport is well thought out, because it is easy to use. Despite the number of different stats and displays (you can see that just below) the application has the luxury of being always clear.
Use and handling Jabra Sport Pulse
Quality sports support
Once you have decided to play sports, the Jabra Sport Pulse well installed in your ears, you will have the choice between several activities, namely: running, cycling, walking, hiking, ski skateboarding, treadmills and walking. Each time, once the effort is over you can find all of your sports performances. The duration, the average heart rate, the maximum heart rate, the distance, but also the average pace, as well as the speed and the number of calories burned. A map using the geolocation of your phone allows you to find the route of your route, but also to know when you suffered the most (where the heart rate was the highest). It is possible to configure a lot of things including information on the time traveled by kilometers.
All of this data is also available in the form of detailed graphics.. A nice feature is the possibility of having a voice that repeatedly indicates, at a distance or a duration that you define, all of your statistics since the beginning of the effort. Clearly, it is possible to be informed every 500 meters or 10 minutes of your average heart activity, but also your average speed.
Another of the strengths of the device is that it adapts to you. It is possible to determine objectives, but above all to calibrate the whole process according to you. Calibrate the distance, the heart rate is even recommended to have the most precise performance monitoring possible. In short, the wireless sport is beautiful is there.
A perfectible sound device
Audio side, if the rendering is not bad, it is not exceptional. It lacks a bit of clarity and the bass is a bit lacking. The app is well done because you can select your music playlist in Deezer, Spotify and all the other music apps on your phone. The device at 200 euros therefore fishes a little by its sound quality which is correct, but nothing more. The headphones will be used for sport and for sport only, unless you are not too demanding on the sound.
Disappointing autonomy
This is perhaps one of the most important shortcomings of these smart health connected headphones, their autonomy. Do not expect to exceed 4h30 with a full charge. It’s a bit below the already unfamiliar competition in this technical part. Admittedly, a 4:30 sports session is rather rare, but this confirms once again that we will not choose the Sport Pulse for a long trip.
Facing the competition Jabra Sport Pulse
Although headphones capable of taking the heart rate are relatively rare on the market, Jabra is not the only one to have explored this market. BioSport headphones offer the same functionality thanks to Intel technology. They are slightly cheaper, around 170 euros. The features are close and the criticisms on the sound quality are the same: correct, but nothing more. To note that the American giant Apple is very interested in the in-ear heart rate, so it’s not possible for Jabra to end up with a strong competitor.

Our feeling
What we liked : ease of use, the many functions of the application, ease of use.
What we didn't like : a correct sound, but that does not break three legs to a duck, too light autonomy.
Conclusion Jabra Sport Pulse
Jabra offers a completely convincing solution for athletes. With this plethora of usable data, the Sport Pulse will appeal to all those who want an all-in-one product provided they are not too demanding on audio quality and autonomy, which is really limited.
Use / Getting started
Overview
Design : Sympathetic to the eye, the yellow and black colors go well together. In addition, they are quite comfortable.Application : The strong point of the device, the functions are numerous and easy to access. Use / Getting started : Above all for athletes. Because if the activity part is very good, the sound is simply correct. In addition, the autonomy is disappointing.Value for money : Whether you choose a smart health connected watch or bracelet, count between 100 and 150 euros to be able to capture your heart rate. For around fifty euros more, you have headphones all the same of good quality, wireless, made for sports lovers. The investment is interesting.
