The Withings BPM Core is a new device launched since the purchase of Withings from Nokia last year. The Withings BPM Core is the successor to the BPM blood pressure monitoring. This smart health connected device now offers more ways to track your health home cardiovascular health.

Withings BPM Core – A concentrate of innovation

The body of the Withings BPM Core is very similar to its predecessor. He still has the ability to measure blood pressure and at a clinical level. In addition to blood pressure, the ehealth device can take ECG readings. It can therefore be used to identify serious heart health problems such as atrial fibrillation.

Another new feature is the digital stethoscope which, according to Withings, can aid in the early detection of valvular heart disease. This concerns damage to one of the four heart valves; which may require surgery.

Withings BPM Core: a real ally for your health

The sensor device, which also includes a digital microphone, allows the user to place the cuff on the arm and press the measurement button. The three measurements are then made within 90 seconds; and the data is passed to the Withings Health Mate app.

Blood pressure readings are displayed on the device itself; via a small screen. For ECG readings, you will need to place your other hand on the stainless steel sensors for twenty seconds. The digital stethoscope requires placing the sensor on the chest and the device requires twenty seconds to listen and assess your heart.

The BPM Core will work with iOS and Android smartphones and has enough rechargeable battery for hundreds of measurements on a single charge. All data from the Withings BPM Core, including audio recordings from the heart, may be shared with your doctor or healthcare professional.

Finally, Withings BPM Core is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2019 for $ 249.95. Withings states that, although it is a medical grade device, it is currently under review for FDA and CE approvals.
